General specifications

Quietness

The QuietDrive technology used in VorTechs is also available for the heart of your aquarium: the lift pump.

  • Communicate with compatible QD and EcoSmart devices.
  • Motor with noise minimization technology.
  • Maximum operational efficiency.
Battery Backup

In a motionless aquarium fish and corals start to die in 4-10 hours. Battery Backup is the insurance of your reef tank in an aluminum case. With it, your bathtub safe from power outages, this way we help you protect your investment.

Controllability

Your Vectra pump is a feature-rich, web-enabled device with all the innovations you expect from an EcoTech Marine product. From the first moment you can control your Vectra using the QuietDrive driver. You can activate your settings, choose a mode, activate feed mode directly using the knobs or buttons on the driver. The Vectra is at its best when connected to EcoSmart Live via Reeflink. Using ESL, Vectra can be set to daily schedules which gives you additional flexibility. ESL allows you to sync Vectra to your VorTechs to optimize the way nutrients are transported.

savings

Traditional AC pumps, when used as a lift pump, control the flow through a throttle valve. This method is certainly inefficient for two reasons.

  • AC pumps often need to be over powered to give you the flexibility of use you need.
  • By giving an artificial impedance to the flow, power is wasted. Vectra pumps always operate at peak efficiency because it is not necessary to use a flow restriction valve to achieve the desired flow.
Active feedback

Used in conjunction with Reeflink, your Vectra pump can send alerts about its operation and status to your computer or smart phone. The lift pump is the heart of your aquarium, the sooner you become aware of unexpected problems, the more likely you are to become a successful aquarist.

The flexibility of Vectra
Return or movement pump in closed systems

Vectra pumps have a sealed magnetically driven motor suitable for both indoor and outdoor operation. both internal and external functioning. They can be used both as return pumps and as movement pumps for a closed system. The Vectra's flexibility will meet your needs for any setup you want to create.

  • Two different operating configurations
  • As a return pump it has a calibration system and a locking system
  • As a movement pump for closed systems it can work in random or pulsing.

Return pump mode

Constant Speed Mode

This is the Vectra's default mode, so the pump produces flow at a constant rate, determined by the position of the control knob.

Feed Mode

At the touch of a button the Vectra pump will pause the current mode and idle, allowing you to feed without being sucked back into the overflow or filtration.

Speed Lock

Speed Lock gives you the ability to lock in the desired pump speed by disabling the control knob and protecting you from accidental and unwanted speed changes.

ESL via Mobile Device

All Vectra pumps are Reeflink compatible. Reeflink gives you completely wireless access to the world of EcoSmart Live, Ectech Marine's web-accessible command center.

Battery Backup Mode

A storm, a breakdown, a lightning strike. The unexpected happens. Power goes out... Vectra pumps are compatible with EcoTech Battery Backup.

Movement pump in closed systems

Lagoonal Random

Random Mode simulates a “low energy” lagoon environment. The speed of the pump varies slowly, to recreate the gentle currents of a lagoon.

Reef Crest Random

Reef Crest Random mode simulates a high energy reef environment. The pump will change speed frequently and dramatically to simulate breaking waves and rough tides. This is the preferred environment for SPSs.

Gyre

Gyre Mode creates a flow pattern characterized by uniform clockwise and counter-clockwise flows pulsing at selected intervals ranging from two seconds to two hours.
